.VBS File Help?

My problem concerns .vbs files.Whenever I save a .jpg image to my computer's hard drive, it will eventually turn into a .jpg.vbs file, and will then have a size of 12 KB. Renaming the file back to a plain .jpg file doesn't help to restore the picture. Also, my computer is copying my mp3 files and making duplicates with the .vbs extension. This doesn't destroy the mp3's, but it does make annoying duplicates. However, the my pictures are being destroyed by this. How might I fix this?

OK keep calm, but this is a worm virus, probably the Love Letter one.

Get your virus protection up to date and do a thorough scan. I think you've lost the files that it's renamed though - don't try to double click them until you're cleaned up, that will just try to spread the worm.
