please help me.i have been playing learnkey dvd's for a few months with no problem but now when i try to play them it gets half way into the install process and when a box pops up saying "installing macromedia flash" instantly an alert box pops up behind it with the following message:

CODEBASE ERROR

Error #-70
Error #:91102
reading file
dfile4...[ ]
c:\programfiles\learnkey\velocity\runtime\database \testsess.dbf

when i bought the dvd player the software didnt work so i downloaded deepburner and that worked fine.my pc has had a few nasty viruses lately .i have successfully removed them but this problem only started after the viruses so i dont know if i have damaged my system.i really have no idea what to try and would be grateful for any help

Hi,
you could install flash player again but the error message is saying you have a corrupt database file "testsess.dbf" now i'm not sure how you can get round that because I'm guessing that the dbf file has been growing as you progressed with the Learnkey course. It may well be that you have to restart from the beginning after uninstalling and reinstalling. If you are running XP you might be able to roll back to a restore point but I'm no expert in that.

i am running millenium edition and it will only give me the previous day as a restore point.i tried to uninstall everything but it is saying i have to be logged in as administrator to do this.i cant work this out as i never have to log in using millenium edition

Sorry it's taken a time to get back to you.
Firstly I have never run ME, I went 98 to XP so I don't know why you can't delete the files. The database file is not in a virtual drive it is under C:\program files\learnkey\velocity\runtime\database \testsess.dbf (the database File....DBF)
I fail to understand this Virtual drive, why do you have it, what program created it, what is it used for?

right problem solved!!! i went to start>search then typed in the name of the dbf file, found it and deleted it then inserted the dvd again.it obviously saw the file was missing and reinstalled it and now everything is working fine.

regarding the virtual drive

i have 5 cd's on a dvd and as i understand it they are stored on my machine in a virtual drive so i dont need to install them every time i want to play them which is very time consuming

many thanks Big jim
