Firstly, I have to say this is a great free site for tchnical help. I think there should be a tutorial on how to get the best out of your modem. Lots of people don't realize that by simply changing some COM port settings, and modem settings, you can notice a significant increase in your modem speed.

Keep up the good work! :D

I'm no expert, but this is what I've learned from various websites. Go into the Device Manager, open the properties of the COM Port your modem is using and change the Bits per
Second to 115k, and if your modem supports it change the Flow Control to Hardware. Go into modem properties, and set the connection speed as close as possible to your modem speed. Also setting the Port Settings as high as possible is good to.

Good idea Boy Wonder. Maybe the Boss will see this and work one up. Until then, do some searches on the web, you'll find some good stuff there.

Here's a cool site: http://808hi.com/56k/trouble.htm
