Heres a doozy..and..ok my laptop is connected to my pc through its second nic card.(proxy server) when i first got the laptop..it wouldnt detect the cable or connection or anything..even when i plugged the modem straight into the laptop. So i reformatted and upgraded to WIN Xp. it worked fine. i unplugged it and brought it to a college. trying getting it to work up there..but it didnt. so i brough it home..and it wont work now..so i tryed reinstalling the drivers and whatnot..and checked to make sure windows detected it..and it did.. but still it would not detect the connection. i was checking to see if it was the cable or the nic card in the pc..so i plugged it into my XBOX..and went on XBOX live fine..so i know its the laptop nic card. i reformatted and reinstalled windows xp again.. now its still not working.. randomlly though it did detect it..so i clicked repair connection..and it said "could not resolve I" so i restarted..reinstalled driver etc..and still no.. and now it wont detect it at all.. im hoping the nic card isnt broke..but i dont see how it would...
