Im trying to set up a network between 2 computers. One has windows xp pro and the other home. I am using a netgear wgr614 router. Both computer can access the internet. One computer set up fine, as far as i know when i ran the wizard, but the other gives me this error

"An error occured during configuration of the network on this computer. You can configure your network manually, or you can run the wizard again with different settins."

I have tried making sure all services were running thinking that maybe i disabled one that was needed, i have disabled all antivirus software. Another thing i might note is that when i run the wizard it asks me if i want to turn file and printer sharing on. I thought this was strange because my other computer did not ask me if i wanted it on or not. Maybe this has somthing to do with the error. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Cody

Screw the wizard and set it up manually.

Hey Cody, how's it going? Have you gone back to this and tried anything else? Did you retry the wizard and get the same results? How manually setting the network parameters? For a simple network it should be pretty simple. Let us know how it goes and if you need help with any of it.

The error is pretty generic and as I'm sure you know not very useful. BTW, what version of windows are you running?

I hope thinks are working for you...
