XP really wants to dial-out!
I have seen this before but I am flummoxed this time. I have a laptop which travels around with the user and dials-in from various and sundry places without any problems. In the office it is plugged in to the wired network and just says, Okay, I’ll use the wire.
Well, no more. Now when it is plugged into the wired network at the office it pops up the dial-out window and asks if it may dial the number listed, the owner’s at-home ISP for the most part. The owner dismisses this window and then the next network access attempt uses the wired network, so – okay from there on. But the next day they come into the office, the same story repeats. Does anyone know why Windows suddenly wants to dial out before checking to see if the wired network is available, and how to stop this annoying behavior? Thanks - Lawrence |

It's because in Internet Options/Connections(tab) they don't have Never dial a connection checked.
