Windows 2000 Pro Boot Problem

I have a Dell running windows 2000 pro which will not boot in any mode. I was replacing a bad modem with a new one and installed the drivers for the new modem. Now the computer will not boot. Have tried safe mode and all the other modes listed. The black screen with the white bar at the bottom gets to about the last four bars and then stops. Any ideas .

Have you tried removing the modem?

Yes, I have removed the modem

You may have to run a Repair install of the OS.

To do this boot from the CD and choose R for the Repair options.
