cannot connect to server

Right,

I have a web server, with several different sites on it.

And for some reason every now and then it ****s up, i say every now and them, its often and for long times.

Says page cannot be displayed etc, yet i can view other sites on the server, i thought htis could be a dns problem, but it affects different sites dialy, one day it will affect X the next day it will affect every other site apart from that one.

Ahs anyone got any ideas?

DNS is a good starting point, can you connect via an IP address rather than the DNS name?

no.

I think i narrowed it down a bit.
It seems to be that the first one a i go on a day, works. For example io have 4 sites, 1,2,3,4

if i go on site 1 in the morning then site 1 will work and none of teh others. If i go on any of the others first they will work, but none of the others will.

It's doing my head in.

How is the server setup?

What Webserver software?
What method of redirection for getting to the sites?
