Hey
I am currently in the middle of sorting a home network problem for a friend. Seem to have it all sorted now apart from one thing...
One of the laptops seems to be reliant on the master connection being active (ie the PC that the router is directly connected to being switched on)
This has only been so for a few days. Up until yesterday the laptop was able to connect fine with the Master PC off.
Why has the laptop all of a sudden become reliant? When the master PC is off and internet Explorer is opened on the laptop, it tries to dial the dial-up connection that the laptoip used to use. When the Master PC is on however it automatically uses the broadband connection through the router.
There is another laptop and one mor desktop on the network. These seem to work fine even with the master PC off.
Any ideas?
Dan
