Hi, this is just a small thing but it's been bugging me for a day now. So a part of my image is half an elipse and in the area covered by the elipse I used a gradient overlay, as well as a couple of shadows. Now I want to write something on top of that, but everytime I start typing something, the newly created text layer always appear underneath the elipse layer so it's unvisible. How do I change the order of the layers - that is, how can I choose which layers are in the bottom and which on top?

nedd more info/code.
If you are using CSS then you can use the z-index value

Hi degsy,
I'm only doing Photoshop so no CSS I think. This is what I want my banner to look like:

This is what it looks like right now:

The text layer is there but it's just underneath the blue gradient overlay layer. So is there a way to set which layer come before other ones?

Hi Slump
I will try to help you.
To do this, click on the layer that you wish to move in the Layers palette and drag it so that it's where you want it to be. (I would assume up)
If that does not work for you then you can click on the layer you were wanting to move and copy the layer then paste it as a new layer.
Delete the original layer after you see your copy on top of your banner.
Hope this is what you were looking for.
Edit to add when you click on the layer you wish to move DO NOT release the click until you get it in the layer position that you wish it to be in, like the top.
