And now for my problem. About every 2-5 minutes my network connection seems to stall out. I began noticing this when my AIM would constantly disconnect/reconnect. Then I noticed that I was constantly having to refresh pages while browsing.

Also, my computer seems to reboot after a few hours of use, but sometimes within the first hour. There is no consistency to when it reboots. Sometimes the computer is simply idling on a screensaver while I'm away during the day, sometimes when I'm playing a game or even when I'm surfing a tech support forum (this is my second attempt and getting this posted). The above stats from HijackThis were taken literally moments prior to a hard boot, if that helps.

I've run Kapersky Anti-Virus as well as TrendMicro Housecall. I've also run Ad-Aware SE 1.05 and SpyBot S&D 1.3.

Quite frankly, I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Since most people seem to suggest the P/S, please see the above Sandra stats on my P/S - voltages seem fine. Also, I don't see how this could affect the network connectivity.

EDIT:: I browse almost exclusively with Firefox. I only use IE for my online courses.

EDIT:: The router is brand-new. Bought it today thinking that was the problem with the network. No dice. I also have the most up-to-date firmware on it.

EDIT:: More information. Here are some errors I've received from the event viewer that seem to be close to the time when the crashes happen -

DCOM got error "The service database is locked. " attempting to start the service EventSystem with arguments "" in order to run the server:
{1BE1F766-5536-11D1-B726-00C04FB926AF}

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 001109018A80. The following error occurred:
The semaphore timeout period has expired. . Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Configuring the Page file for crash dump failed. Make sure there is a page file on the boot partition and that is large enough to contain all physical memory.

I don't think it's really anything in the browser.. I think I have some sort of hardware conflict or corrupted driver.

After disabling the auto-restart after system crash, I was able to see that the error causing the crash was a BAD_POOL_CALLER.

Some Googling revealed that in most cases resetting the BIOS will remedy this. I went into the BIOS and told it to set the optimal default settings (didn't really feel like taking the battery off the mobo...). I'll post an update when I know if it worked.

Okay, we're still crashing and having network interrupts here...

First of all, earlier today on another crash I got that the driver nv4_disp had failed and the crash was to protect the system. Here are the stop codes:

0x000000EA, 0x84218020, 0x07961CBC, 0x00000001

After defaulting the BIOS settings as I said I did earlier didn't work, I also did a hard reset of the BIOS (removed the battery) which has had no effect.

I also ran Microsoft AntiSpyware in safe mode and rebooted. This did not solve the network interruptions or the crashes. Here is the the new HijackThis log:

I may be mistaken but normally a Bad_Pool_Caller is a driver somehow causing a conflict with windows. In this case I'm not sure what driver that could be but a safe bet would be any driver the you recently installed. I would get rid of any and all instances of it on the computer even search for it in the registry.

Also have a look through these troubleshoots

I think at this time it is safe to assume your MSI board has bit-the-dust. They are cheap boards and I'm quite sure
it's toast. The IDE controller chip is going or the bridge chips and/or onboard gfx are gone/going. It's just going to get
worse from here. That's about where your standing right now.

Just a bit of an update. I re-installed most of the third-party drivers (nVidia, Creative). I also took the case apart one more time and blew all the dust out, rechecked/tightened all the P/S connections, etc. I also did one more hard reset of the BIOS.

It's been close to - if not more than - 24 hours with no crashing and no network interrupts. I'll post if the problem resurfaces in the next couple of days, though I'll likely just go buy a new Asus mobo.
