Said "Thanks" too early huh? :) ;)
I tell you, NECs site is sure built dumb. Surfing there and looking for drivers a sure a task. Every time you
search the form gets zeroed to the default settings. The results are so poorly defined that reading them
doesn't help one bit.
Let's try this. install EVEREST Home Edition v1.51 (http://www.lavalys.com/products/download.php?pid=1&lang=en) on it and under
Network
Windows Network
a split window will show on the right side and the upper one has your wireless adapter
post exactly (word-4-word letter-4-letter) everything it says for that wireless adapter.

Something weird here.
A D-link router has an IP address (gateway) of 192.168.0.1
you posted earlier your gateway as 192.168.1.1 which is a Linksys IP address...
Network Adapter Addresses
IP / Subnet Mask 192.168.1.4 / 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
DHCP 192.168.1.1
...so it sounds like you have manualy set in Windows the IP address and gateway etc for TCP/IP in Network.
You want in TCP/IP Network to Obtain an IP address automatically.
Is this your router?

What operating system do you have? XP Home? XP Pro?

Open an Internet Explorer and in the address slot type http://192.168.0.1 the click Go or hit enter.
What do you get?
Do the same for http://192.168.1.1
What do you get?
I assume you've been told Windows 98 does not handle wireless well.

Beside you clock (to the left) is all those small icons, this is the System Tray. In the system tray
you should have a wireless icon (it's got a computer and some sound waves for the icon picture). Two-click
that and an interface should popup...there will be the wireless networks in your area including your router.
The default will be named D-Link or Default, click once on that and then click on the
Connect button.

If you would have waited 27 more days it would have been 2 years :)
No probs, we are all still here.
Is that a Ralink 802.11g card or 802.11b card? Run Everest (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/download/file/everest-home-edition) it will show you that and more.
