hello, i work for a school district in town that i attend. i am currently installing fresh copies of windows 2000 on the machines in the shop. when i boot up on the four set up disks all goes well until after it formats and starts installing. before long i get this error:
"the following value in the .sif file used by setup is currupted or missing: value 0 on the line in section [source Disks Files] with key "sp3.cab" setup cannot continue. to quit setup, press F3"
we have many copies of windows 2000 sp3 and every single copy does this on every machine it is used on. i first used set up disks made off of bootdisk.com and thought those were at fualt. i followed the commands and remade them in windows off the cd. but i still get the same error. the tech doesnt know what would cause it and has never heard of it. is there a way around it? is it a bad disk? and help would help greatly, thank you in advance.

Did someone create the W2000 SP3 CDs for you?
If so there is a configuration error.

You may be best getting hold of an original W2000 CD and slipstreaming SP3 (or SP4) yourself

the odd thing is, is that it installed over 98. the problem with that is that i couldnt remove the partition and format it. thus the boot disks to wipe it out. i didnt get the error installing over 98. cant get the original with out hastle n red tape.

Why not boot from the CD and partition and format?
