I installed a new motherboard, Aopen DVD +/- R/RW and AMDAthlon processor with a hard drive already loaded with Win2000Pro.
BIOS and CMOS settings seem normal, but when it starts to load Windows, the 'blue screen' pops up with ...

*** STOP: 0x0000007b (0xEB81B84C,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

In the notes below that it mentions checking for viruses and running CHKDSK/F, but how can I do that without even being able to get a command prompt?

I have tried booting from both the HD and CD-ROM to no avail. :upset:

have you tried booting into safe mode? and running the virus scanner and chkdsk?

there could be a problem with the motherboard drivers.

Howdy:

The problem is you changed motherboards and used the same hard-drive with XP installed on it.. XP is looking for all the drivers, settings etc associated with your old motherboard..

Use you XP cd and run the Recovery or Repair option..

Murray S is right, try a repair of win2k or just reinstall the operating system over itself.
