One of our computers has Windows 2000 operating system. It has one printer directly conneted and two network printers one a tcp/ip connection and one a shared printer from a computer with windows XP.

The directly connected will print , but the other two will not. I attempted to delete them and reinstall, but when I attempt that the system says opening and I wait for several minutes with no responce, if I do a Ctrl+Alt+ Del I see that they are not responding. If I close them out I can not open the printer and fax folder againg unless I reboot. My senior It people at the home office did not have a clue and thought it might be a Windows problem. I think I should attempt a repair of the Windows 2000, but would like some input as to possible causes.

Thank you

Can you access the Network and share files ok?
You may want to unshare the printer then reshare it.

Do you have any Firewalls that may be conflicting?

We can access the network and The fire wall is off for now. I can try the share idea.

Thanks
