Slow Boot Process

Hi,
When I boot up it seems that my computer takes forever. Everything loads fine, but it is slow. I have a firewall, and spyware installed. Also, I have a Linksys wireless base unit and I use cable to get online. I have Windows 98SE.

Have you noticed a difference recently?
What are the PC specs?

It could just be that it is slow because of the specs and the programs loading at startup.
