have to click twice

sometimes i have to click on a link twice before it works and this goes for any link i have a cable modem and i have the mircosoft packets turned off and i use firefox what could be the problem

Open Internet Explorer and try a few links with it. If they don't require double clicks, you'll have narrowed it down to a Firefox problem.

If it is a Firefox problem, probably the easiest thing to try first is just to reinstall Firefox over top of the current installation.
