502 error on sites ending in .nm.ru

Hi,

Thanks for such a great site. I searched extensively, and I can't find anyone reporting this problem.

I am currently using AOL 9.0 (BB Gold), Windows XP SP2, McAfee Personal Firewall, Adaware SE 1.05, Spybot S & D 13 and pandavirus activescan.

I have been suffering this problem now for some months, and I have resorted to reformatting my hard drive and starting again. All to no avail!!!

The site I am particularly interested in is http://www.mahjonginmame.nm.ru/ which I can happily access from work. All of my friends across the globe can access the site, and the problem existed before I updated to SP2 (today).

I also did a simple google today "nm.ru", and I get the same error with every site I try with this appendix. I have found that the AOL live help people are about as useful as chocolate teapots, having spoken to 4 of them now.

I suspect that this may be a Browser/Firewall settings issue, but I've tried everything I can think of, again to no avail.

Any feedback/suggestions would be greatfully received.

TIA,

a_m.

If you have formatted then I would guess it is an ISP problem.

What is your setup? Cable/DSL? Router? Firewalls?

Does your modem have a Config page?
Does it have MTU options?

Hi degsy,

I am unable to find a settings page for my DSL modem. It is an external modem, and there are two LAN ports, one of which I use very occasionally for data transfer from this machine. The second machine does not have internet access.

Cheers,

a_m.

It could be a restriction by your ISP.

What options are in the modem config?

Try visiting through a proxy

Hi degsy,

I've been reading through my AOL live help chat logs, and it is now obvious that they cannot access the site either.

Cheers,

Certainly sounds like a routing/DNS issue with AOL if it's the whole domain you can't get to.

Thanx a lot guys, I am now able to access one of my favourite sites (upon which I am more dependant than my wife is on chocolate)!!!

I concur with you guys that it definitely is an AOL problem, and I will contact them with your findings. Just a pity that the live help chat agents didn't know that!!!

If I get a resolution from AOL, I will post the results.

Cheers again, and thanx for the help. Another happy customer!!!
