Finding Favorites

Hi everyone. I'm looking for some help with MSN Explorer vs. my operating system, Windows XP.

I recently got back my old laptop and am in the process of deleting old files and backing everything up so I can wipe the hard drive as clean as possible and start from scratch, so to speak. I've been able to save everything, except one thing.

My Internet Favorites.

I can't seem to find them! They're not saved in my favorites folder(s), as those for Microsoft IE would be. I can't view them online because my laptop doesn't have access at the moment. I have so many favorite sites saved on MSN Explorer and I really don't wish to lose them. Does anyone have an idea where I might look (without going online), is there some hidden folder somewhere I'm not thinking of?

Thanks!
-Col.

According to what I can find, MSN Explorer keeps its bookmarks in a file called favorites.xml.

Thanks Miz. I'll take a look. If I find the file, can you tell me how I might view it? I have no idea how to view an .xml file.

Thanks again,

-Col.

I'm not familiar with the xml format. I did a Google search for "open xml" and found Open XML Editor. It's free and sounds like it will do what you need.

even with a viewer it won't make much sense.

You don't really have to view the file, just back it up.
