I am running Windows XP Pro w SP2 on a PC with 1GHz RAM. About one month ago I downloaded the normal Norton's AV definition file. The next time I rebooted my PC (warm/cold) the Windows Installer appeared with the message "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the "MMC80" disk and click OK". At the bottom of this menu was a box lablel "USE SOURCE". Inside the box was the number "1". Clicking "OK" produced another menu labeled "MMC80" Inside this menu was the following "The path "1" cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package "MMC80.MSI" in a folder from which you can install the product MMC80" Clicking "OK" produced the message labeled "MMC80" which contained a yellow triangle and stated "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product MMC80. The Windows Installer cannot continue." Clicking "OK" on this message took me back to the first message. Repeatedly clicking "Cancel" cleared the message and my PC boots to normal. This has continued each time I booted my PC. I saw a reference on another site saying that MMC80 comes from ATI's Multimedia Center. I do have installed ATI's 9700 video card. ATI's website makes no reference to the problem I am experiencing. I suspect Norton's may be involved, but am not certain since I really do not understand the problem. I don't even know what the "MMC80 Product" is. Any help to resolved the problem would be appreciated.

I have Office 97. I do not understand your question regarding Windows/Restore CD. I have the CD for Windows XP and I have a CD for Service Pack 2.
