Please help me. Windows XP user. Recently had some spyware/hijacker issues, and in the process of trying to clean up, I have messed something up. I can no longer access secure websites in IE6. Spent an hour on the phone with MSN and tried everything on list of fixes (checking encryption, registering dll files, create new user prfile, etc.) including reinstalling IE with no change. Have also downloaded Firefox and get message "Connection was refused when contacting mozilla.com..." I tried a system restore and it failed. I am about to lose it.... Any suggestions?

Welcome :)

Try this fix
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm

Also, check in Internet Options>

Security - Set it to Default Level
Advanced - Click Restore Defaults

Ran IEFix and checked settings as you suggested. Still no luck. I don't know if this helps at all, but I can still get e-mail downloaded into Outlook Express, just can't access it online nor go to any secure sites. I don't have a firewall running, but do have Norton Antivirus. Thanks for the help.
