My computer keeps randomly freezing.. Usually when I'm playing a computer game though.. Like Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. Before I reformated my computer, I never had this issue, and if overheating was the problem.. I just reformated and have LESS stuff for the cpu or w/e to use than before I reformated.. Can you help me out here? I hate this freezing issue.. I have to keep restarting =(

Edit: I checked for spyware with 4 different spyware programs.
I'm installing Norton Anti-Virus to check if a virus is the problem.. I'll keep you updated on that part..

Update windows to at least sp3 (service pack 3). and all hardware drivers need to be updated as well.

check your event logs. Those can be found under the control panel/admin tools/event viewer.

You didn't make any changes to the bios when you reformated did you?

my guess is the drivers and/or settings for your video card. or your ram timing is not set correctly.

Windows appears to have sp4 on it already. I do agree that if you haven't updated all your hardware drivers that is a very good idea. When it does freeze does it display an error message or just lock up? Also it may not be a bad idea to run 512mb's or RAM if you are going to be game'in. The more ram the better when it comes to games. If in fact it were a heat issue it could still be an issue. Reformat and not loading as much software on the computer won't stop overheating. Also I agree that you may want to check your event view it could have the key to those lock ups.

It just locks up.. I'm not worried about the issue anymore actually.. It's because I'm building a whole new computer ^^ I won't have any of the thing's I have in this computer on my new one..

And to updating my hardware, It was all already updated.. So I guess that leaves us with overheating and other things I left out =P.. But how come it didn't overheat before I reformatted?

OK, I bought a new case (New power supply and everything..)

I got an amd 64 3200+, 2x256mbs 400mhz ram.. and an asus motherboard with the amd 64...

The problem STILL happens..

It doesn't show any error messages or ANYTHING, it just locks up out of the clear blue sky...
