ME to XP?

My son wants to buy an ipod.
I know that you need to have windows XP or 2000 to run the ipod,we have windows ME.

So my question's are..

1 can you put XP on to the system i am using?
It has ...
256 OGM of RAM
60 gb hard drive
1333Mhz Processor

2.How easy is it to put windows on my P.C?

3.Can i just use a XP disk that a friend has?

4.Anyone know of any other good MP3 players?

Any help anyone can give would be great.

Thanks

you system should run it but you would be better if you had 512 megs of ram. Go to pcpitstop.com and do their xp readiness test.

It is easy to install but you will have to purchase your own cd since to use a friends cd will cause it not to activate.
