hey, i have win 2k on my other computer and i was messin around on one of those file sharing programs and i think i accidentally downloaded a virus

i think i did a bad move in turning off my computer while it was trying to install itself

after i turned my comp back on, it would not let me get into my desktop, it would just go back and forth with saying "loading your settings" and "saving your settings"

so i told my dad about it and he got on there and was messing around on it, and i dont know what he did, but after he got done, it wouldnt even go into trying to load up the desktop

so i tried downloading a 2k startup disk off bootdisk.com and my computer would not pick up the cd

then, i tried using a win ME startup disk and i dont know what i did but know, it just says "error loading operating system"

is there any hope for this computer??

i dont have the win 2k disks because my uncle gave me the computer and the only thing he has is a bootleg version of the disk and he's afraid to send it in the mail

Press F8 key at one second intervals while computer is starting and select Safe Mode
