I have never made a bootdisk before and would just like to know what I would put on it. I am using Windows ME and then installing XP. Unfortunatly my computer has a .dll error and I need to re format then install either ME or XP. I'm just wondering how I would make a bootdisk. I have an empty floppy atm so a list of what to do in order would help.

Thanks,

Mark

what is the full dll error. Maybe there is a way around it. Are you able to get into safemode? You can get bootdisks from bootdisk.com

the .dll error is for IMAGEHLP.DLL

nothing opens, nothing works, and I have to go through my recycle bin to acess the internet or else it freezes. I'll go to the website and keep you posted on what I did.

Ok I downloaded the bootdisk and put it onto my floppy. When I rebooted it said there was a Disk Error. Now what should I do?

Is there anyone on these boards that can help me? It's been a couple days already.

when did the dll error start? when you were trying to install XP?

yourr bootdisc is having a disc error, what exactly does it say?

if you have a bootable CD, once you get to dos, Fdisk, format, and install whichever OS you wanted, .. - now is XP an upgrade or a FullOEM?

you never gave the full dll error as requested. You need to be specific since dll files can have different type of errors.

Ah ok thanks.

Well when my computer starts up and I get to my sign in screen these error messages pop up saying IMAGEHLP.DLL has caused error in "insert program". None of my programs will open and when I go to check my email it turns into a search engine due to the mass of spyware I now have because I can't run any virus protection.

Is that specific? I'm still new to using Windows ME but I heard there was quite a few .dll problems.

Please re-post the error that appears on your screen, letter for letter, word for word, not an abreviation of it, not re-phrased, don't leave anything out, just exactly as it appears on your screen.

Alright. Sorry for being difficult in all this.

Scandskw has caused an error in IMAGEHLP.DLL

Scandskw will now close

If you continue to experience problems try restarting your computer.

That's the first error I get when I reboot. As for the other errors just replace Scandskw with everything I was running in my background. MSN Messenger, Mozilla Firefox, Winamp, etc etc. And when I sign into the internet I automatically get a box that says

Runtime Error!

Program C:/WINDOWS/EXPLORER.EXE

abnormal program termination

I just move the box into my lower screen because if I click OK on it my entire screen freezes up and goes black.
