Cannot view Icons

Hello,

I've been having problems recently with my computer. I've fixed many of the errors with help on this forum. Now, however, I cannot view the icons in my Control Panel, or the components of my C: Drive when I open it in My Computer.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also... if it helps; I cannot restore my active Desktop. I click on the "restore active desktop", but it does nothing. Repeated clicks... no luck.

Have you tried a system restore?
