Monitor shuts down when I click on the settings tab

Has anyone ever experienced your monitor shutting down whenever you click on the settings tab in the display properties box?

What is causing this weird activity?.....The reason I am trying to get to the settings is because my color settings are way off, but whenever I click on the settings tab to open it up.......monitor conks out, but the computer stays on:upset:

Have you tried reinstalling your video drivers?

Try booting into Safe Mode and see if it happens.

If it doesn't konk out and lets you into the SETTINGS tab try lowering your resolution and/or the refresh rate (Hz).
