Question I want to share MS outlook (3 systems)

MS outlook is difficult to share without spending a lot of $. Does anyone know of a reasonable app that allows sharing. (Better yet can it be done by Outlook itself)

Thanks
Roger

Outlook is part of Office so unless you've bought a multi license you can only install it on one
machine. Outlook Express comes with all versions of Windows and aside of some non essential
email specific controls, it's literally the same program.

So why not just use Outlook Express and you don't have to worry about sharing a single license program.

What exactly are you trying to do? You could try Thunderbird. It's free adn you can get it from www.mozilla.com. I've been testing it and so far have been pleased.

You can try Thunderbird from mozilla (firefox). It is free and has built in spam filters. I have been using it since december and had no problems.

Why Outlook is requested.

One of the parameters set is that the customer wishes to use Outlook. They own MS Office Pro on each of the machines. There Goal is to be able to share contacts and the calendar feature.

I don't believe you can do that with Outlook. I think you have to use Exchange (at least no way that I am aware of). I am interested in the same thing adn hope someone knows something!

I think that you and I want to do the same thing. Be able to access contacts, calendar and email from 3 different computers. I only need two though.

The only way that I can see so far is to export/import the .pst file between the machines. I've not had any luck trying to file share this file on my home network. I'm certainly no expert though. If I come up with something other than spend hundred$$$ on EXCHANGE, I'll let you know.

Ian

p.s. would you be so kind as to post any solutions that you find?

I would also suggest the officecalendar.com site as previously suggested. There are others, just do a search for sharing outlook contacts in google.

Net folders

The only thing that I have found that works is the net folder feature built into outlook. You will need your install CD to install this feature. I accessed help to teach me to set up a net folder but now I am sharing my contacts and calendar. The disadvantage with this is net folders communicate via email which is not encrypted.

Roger.
