Thanx spider for the link you provided and your concern!!
I'm positive the procedure will work but there is a slight problem....in the 1st line of the procedure:
copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak
Will work but i'm not sure if my windows is installed in the windows folder and in sub script underneath the steps it has:
Note This procedure assumes that Windows XP is installed to the C:\Windows folder. Make sure to change C:\Windows to the appropriate windows_folder if it is a different location.
so when i type in the 1st line it says:
"The system cannot find the file specified"
So how can i find out where my windows is installed or are there any other solutions???
Thanx for your time,
Nate

That link is for Windows XP and you have Windows 2000 so your Windows is in C:\WINNT folder. So where ever it says c:windows you are c:winnt
Windows 2000 and Windows XP are setup pretty much the same way.

I am running windows 2000 NT on an IBM Netvista. I recently had trrouble running Winzip as well as one other program and when I tried, I received this message. This was not the case previously.
Is there some fix for this issue?? Could this be a virus precipitated issue? Thanks
