no video in various media players

I was trying to watch some video clips today and there is no video display in windows media player, real media player or divx. anyone know what could be the problem? The first files I was trying to watch were .ogg files, so I figured it was just the file type, so I tried watching some .wmv files, and some .mpg4, but the video for those wouldn't show up either. sound plays perfect, but like I said, no video.

Most everyone is squishing (compressing) with XviD these days. Xvid and ffdshow codecs are pretty mandatory.
