Yesterday, my wife asked my why the hell i sent an email to myself

Obviously i hadnt, so prior to opening i checked the properties of the attachment, came up with 655 454RAR

i done a google search on that and it turned out to be a virus..

so just a question
how the hell did appear as my username as the source of the email??

and just a word of warning, if you get similar use caution

Hi capt K

This this it the thing about these e-mail viruses. They have forged headers and false 'from' information.

Someone's computer that has your e-mail address in it has been infected with a virus, this virus has caused e-mails containing an infected attachment to be sent to a whole lot of addresses saved on that computer, but the place where they came from has been forged. This is to prevent you contacting the person whose computer sent the e-mail, and having them fix it. You don't know who it came from, it appears to have come from you!

Good for you, for not opening it. Delete it, update your anti-virus, and do a full scan, just in case. BF
