View Full Version : Help Windows Update installation

I get passed looking for updates and going to review them and as soon as i click on install now it brings up the progress bars but no progress comes up. I wait and wait and still nothing happends what should i do? it hasnt happend in the past but i just reloaded my computer awhile back and now im trying to get the nessasary updates

I went to the KB and searched for a few i thought my problem was g onne get fixed but as soon as i went to do the steps to correct the issue one of the steps gave me a new error which wont let me fix my first one what should i do error is 0x00000485 load library get last error returns

Have you tried system restore?

yeah everytime I try that even after creating a restore point it wont restore it says your system could not be restored and i click ok and nothing changes i cant reload my comp again I need everything on here and dont have my zip anymore

I would find a way to back everything up on your system if it's important to you. At this point a clean install might be best to alleviate the problem.

ok this sux I re-registered all the dll files and i made sure it had C:\Windows\system32.\WScript.exe "%1" %* in the action to perform and restarted a few times went to try and still hangs I'm not longer getting the 0x0000485 error but it still wont work i dont want to do a sys restor cuz i donno if that will work either for one for two If i do that will it take away all the files i just fixed help please

The Windows Updater sometimes has problems if your time and date are not correct, double click your Windows clock down in the lower right hand corner of the Desktop and make sure that they are correct.

ok i found a site that let me get some of my updates installed and one of them was the sys restore i can do that now but when i try to do the rest of the windows updates it is still the same i have 11 left and 44 ME edition ones and 1 driver what should i do im lost at this point
