I would like to know some of the in's and out's of letting people advertise on your webpage or maybe even have someone share a link with me on a webpage that go into and great detail about this subject. I am not out to have a million businesses advertise on my site just enough to keep me running without scaring of my audience.

If people could post in this thread and share some of there expereinces it would be greatly appreciated. thank you

I used the tradedoubler system on my website @ http://www.free-mobile.net

You can sign up for the programs you want to advertise, from the large selection of advertisers.

What type of website are you wanting to advertise? A general purpose website? Store/shop? Blog? BBS?

Advertising must be specific for a specific type of website. It is usually hit and miss until you find a formula that works for you. There are all kinds of programs out there that will help you advertise some works and some don't. In addition the wrong program can cause you money. You can search google and find all kinds of info out there.

You could also just use Google Adsense.
