Hi all
My employer's website has JPEG images of our products. He wishes to superimpose our logo (in either monochrome back or white) with a transparent background so that the images cannot be reproduced without the logo. Is there a way (or two) or achieving this?

most decent editors will offer you layers to superimpose images and most will have tools to aide the process.
Also depends on the format of the images in the first place.

There is dedicated watermark software (http://www.google.com/search?q=watermark+software&sa=+Search+) to do this.
Like degsy said, it can also be done manually with regular graphics software that supports layers and layer opacity. Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop both can do this. Use a copy of the original image for the background, make a new layer with the logo and adjust the opacity of the new layer to make it semi-transparent. You may have to match up the file formats and resize before adding them to the new layered image.

As said above, watermarking sounds like what you wanted.

Here is the Photoshop tutorial on how to create that (http://www.chainstyle.com/photoshop/webhelp/tutorials/photographic/watermarking_your_images.htm).
