I recently purchased this game and my PC should have all the necessary requirements to run it.
Windows XP Home Edition
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 7 GenuineIntel ~2788 Mhz
Total Physical Memory 512.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 295.08 MB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB
NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X OK
Sound Realtek AC'97 Audio

When I installed the DVD into the drive everything went fine and it installed. Unfortunately, every time I try to play it I get a small white blob then a message saying please insert the CD into the drive and press ok. It is of course, already in the drive.
Re-installing it made no difference.
The be fair Ubisofts internet helpline has been but:

They advised me to turn off all DVD rewriting software which I have done - and then removed it to be safe!
They advised me to update my drivers
My DVD is (I think) DVDROM 16x and my cd drive Mitsumi CR48Xte.
I have been unable to find update downloads for these that work - even the mitsumi site download does not work.

They also advised me to download
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=EAE20F0F-C41C-44FE-84CE-1DF707D7A2E9&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=EAE20F0F-C41C-44FE-84CE-1DF707D7A2E9&displaylang=en)

but this has no effect and I have tried the disc in my cd drive and this did not work.

There's a reard for anyone who can get it to work!

A friend of mine is having similar problems with Myst 4 on DVD. Basically his game won't even install. He went to the forums for the game and found out that the game has notorious problems when installing on a DVD burner because it (the game) thinks he is going to try and copy it. I gave him a plain DVD-Rom to use in his machine in hopes that he could get it installed. I haven't heard back from him on this issue but if/when I do, I'll try and post how things went here.

You might want to approach your problem in a similar fashion (if you have an extra plain DVD-Rom to use). It may solve your problems.

Hope this helps!

Here's a way to solve your problem, instead of buying the DVD, you can simply download it onto your hard drive. You can buy the Brothers in Arms download at http://www.direct2drive.com/product.aspx?pid=166.

Aragon, I have the exact same problem with BIA and the exact same hardware specs from the video card to the 16x DVD. It's a Medion PC. I wonder if this is a problem with the G4 ti even though it's supposed to support this card? I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver with no luck. Also, I don't have a DVD burner or burner software. I'll keep you posted if I figure it out.
