Setup password on Compaq Deskpro EN

Hi,

After months of happy using I opened the cover of my Compaq EN Deskpro (for cleaning...). Now the machine requires the setup password because the cover has been opened.
Does anybody know how to get the password or to skip it?

I have never heard of a computer needing a password after taking the cover off. Did you remove or replace the bios battery? Try skipping it.

your computer has chassis intrusion detection case switch install
goto the bios and on the main pg.look for chassis instrusion and disable it or look on the motherboard could be a jumper that could disable the password.your computer about 8 yrs old.whats the model #
