I have been sending out email messages to car clubs suggesting they visit my web site. www.car web site .com (http://www.siii.com/)

Some gal informed me: "Are you aware that your site takes 2-minutes-and-3-seconds to download at 28.8-Kbps?"

Here are my questions:

How many people are still at 28.8-kbs?

How can I speed it up?

Please email me.

I wouldn't about that. That gal has problems.
I still use dialup 56k and your site came up in <1.5 seconds.
How much faster do you want it?
Seems fine to me.

Because not everyone on dialup gets 56kbps on theirs, you might want to check with others how fast the pages are loading. If it loads slowly for those who have slow dialup. When I was on dialup, my speed was something like 26kbps this on a V90 56k modem, and that my friend, it awfully slow for a page to load. Try making your graphics less intense, as in, kb size. You will get less traffic if they can't load the pages.

Hi Arnie

You could check your site at W3 Validator (http://validator.w3.org/) for errors in the code and download times. You can get some hints there as to what you should do to improve things.

BTW your link goes to http://www.siii.com/ which list that domain name for sale? BF

Hi Arnie

I looked at your page and the only obvious thing I noticed was the big car graphic. It's about 48k and could be reduced. Also, you have a lot of images which, though small, do add up.

Check your web page download speed here...

I didn't fix your site link since I don't know if you intended to provide an actual link to your site. Also, we don't do email support here. We would rather respond on the board so that anyone else reading here can maybe learn something to help them too. You should edit your post to remove your email address so the spam harvesters don't find it.

Darth, I think you might have been looking at the page Arnie linked to but not his actual site. It's way bigger. ;)

The original link was about cars.
The link now redirects to "For Sale" site. :dizzy:
And my 56K modem has never reached that speed. Average 42-48K.
