Recently, I installed the new nvidia drivers (71.84). Things worked fine, and it allowed me to play Brothers in Arms. Later that night, I went on to play my usual counter strike, but it wouldn't run. Then the next day, I reformatted (I was due for one anyways) and uninstalled everything that had to do with half life and steam from my backup drive, and it still didn't work. I went to a lan party later that night, and the only games I could get working were newer ones like Brothers in Arms, Half Life 2, and Counter Strike: Source (although they crashed often, and I eventually couldn't play any of them because they would all crash). My older games I had installed such as quake 3, Unreal Tounrament, and the original half life (along with all of its mods) did not work at all. I would get the same screen everytime I tried one (different for each game).

Unfortunately, I do not have a system restore (due to the reformat, and I forgot to make them on my backup drive). I've tried uninsatlling my drivers and putting older ones on. I'm out of ideas. Can anybody help? I'm pretty sure it's a driver issue, but I could be wrong.

Hello my friend, welcome to CTH.....I hope you enjoy your stay!!

You might wanna try going here (www.dll-files.com) to try and find any DLL files you may need......

Good Luck & Welcome Ashore :)

Thanks, I'll try looking through that website. This problem is really making me mad.

EDIT: Do you know if it is a dll problem, which one I would need?
