I have a setup, used for dance classes, in which my laptop is connected to an external amp, which is in turn connected to large speakers. The problem is that with the laptop mains power adapter connected all I get out of the speakers is 'horrible noise' ( some might say that about the music I play), BUT if I disconnect the power adapter all is well and there is no distortion. As the battery life is only about 2 hrs and i need it powered up for over 3 hrs per session this is a problem. Has anyone come across this before, and if so can you remember how it can be solved. Thanks in advance.

Welcome :)

What connecter is the AMP Connected to?
It could be that if you are connecting to the Speaker output then you are getting the Boost from the Power.

You need to use the Line-Out
