Hi there.

Could anyone tell me if they have had trouble with the built in firewall in the nforce3 boards not allowing them to access the internet at all. My sisters computer that we built her in on a dsl connection with a router and she was running fine then she restarted and no connection anymore. This has happened multiple times not and the comp guys she took it to said they had to dissable the nvidia firewall.

So I have two questions:

Does this make any sense?
Can some explain how to go about checking into that so I can see if it needs to be turned of again for some reason?

Any help here would be greastly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Sincerely
Nathan Parks

Welcpme to CTH Nathan. I see that you have not had a reply in this forum so I will transfer your topic to the Networking Forum for help. In the meantime, I found this (http://www.nvidia.com/object/security.html) information. Perhaps something on that page will help you.

Nsparks,
The router you use most likely has a built in hardware firewall so the use of the semi hardware firwall from Nforce may be causing the problem indeed. Turn it off and you will still be behind the routers firewall so that wouldn't be a worry, however if you are paranoid you might be able to "tune" the nforce firewall to work with the routers firewall.
