Will you be wanting to just share files and folders between these two computers or will you also want to share an internet connection as well?

You could go with a crossover setup but for ease of setup and use I would rather see you use a router. DSL connection with either a router or a modem/router combo would give you greater stability and security as routers have built in hardware firewalls. If you need help or suggestions about what sort of router or modem/router to get post back and I'm sure the good folks here can point out some nice ones. If you must do this on the cheap and are sure you want to use a corssover cable for a peer 2 peer setup post back with that and we will go from there.

well thank you I managed to get it working though
its a crossover connection 100mb ps share my interned totaly except SOCS5 which i only got partial so i cant use ICQ but i talk on MSN neeways
Im doing that thanks to my handy dandy proxy server which i got from analogx.com
ty for the help though
routers = expensive and anyways my gateway got nForce4 with nvidia firewall which is one of best firewalls out there so im good :D
I am now having fun messing with my dad while hes online :P
thanks:wave:
