There are no words to express the sadness and shame I feel for this country. For Terri's parents, I extend my deepest regrets for their unbearable pain. http://www.myfilestash.com/userfiles/thedude/icon04.gif

I hope her parents SUE FOR EVERY DIME!!! http://www.portedmods.com/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif http://www.myfilestash.com/userfiles/thedude/Xtreme%20Anger.gif

I am sad but happy. She suffers no more.
For Terri's parents, I extend my deepest regrets for their unbearable pain.
Dude, I appreciate where you are coming from. Diff strokes, diff folks.
But shame for this country. We draw our line in the sand there.
Having lost 2 children myself, one with recurring cancerous brain tumor who died after a 2 year down hill loss in quality of life, after 11 years in remission, I know what they feel but think it was sort of selfish to try and hang on so long for their reasons, whatever they may have been. The poor girl had no life so what was really taken?

If only everyone could just let it go now. No chance of that happening.:(

My living will says if you have to feed me, change my diaper, change the channel on the tv for me, put in tubes and cables........shoot me.

P.S. Screw the courts on this. If this happened during my watch, I'd have definitely gone postal on someone.:dizzy:

Darth, I am deeply sorry for your losses. Having said that, they in no way compare to this case. She had been denied care since the initial incident, which is still in question. Michael Schiavo amassed close to three million dollars that was supposed to go to her care. He gave her none. She was never given any treatment, no therapy. He had nurses fired, who had given her 'real' foods (pudding, jello). Terri Schiavo was not in a "vegetative state" as Michael claimed. There were many doctors willing to take on her case, for free, and he denied them access.

Michael Schiavo had something to hide and he's managed to hide it forever, now that she's gone. He didn't kill her once, but twice; and the sad thing is that he was able to do it so publicly. Karma is a boomerang, and some day he will get exactly what he deserves!

Most of this is just rumors. I doubt they are true. Look at the other side of the coin, he could have walked away and say heck with this mess, saved his money instead of spending it on lawyers fighting her parents. Maybe he loved her enough to fight for her wishes.

All is said and done now. I feel its time for the media to step away from this and let it fade now. If by some chance there is a new update in the story of critical importance they can talk about it. If there is something to learn from this then focus all attention on that and get the word out on it so this will not happen to this intensity again.

Darth I too have suffered a loss not to the magnitude of yours but, it was a sudden loss of a family member. A living will is beginning to look good to me now.

Most of this is just rumors. I doubt they are true. Look at the other side of the coin, he could have walked away and say heck with this mess, saved his money instead of spending it on lawyers fighting her parents. Maybe he loved her enough to fight for her wishes.I disagree about it being "rumors". I listened to many interviews of her family, nurses, doctors, and law enforcement. There was a common thread through all of it, he was neglecting her. He is quoted as saying many, many times "Isn't the ^*tch dead yet? When's the *^tch gonna die." It isn't rumor that he refused to allow her to have any treatment. That is easily proven through looking at her medical records, or lack thereof. And yes, he could have easily turned over guardianship to her parents. They offered to take guardianship without taking any of the money he had been awarded for her care. They were willing to mortgage their house, or whatever else was necessary to pay for therapy and rehabilitation. He refused. Not because of "her wishes", he is the only one who claimed that those were her wishes. Her family (parents, siblings) and many family friends said that these "wishes" went against everything Terri, a Catholic woman, believed. He did not love her. If he had, he would not have been able to move on so easily and quickly after her "accident", he would have provided her every opportunity for recovery, instead of denying it.
All is said and done now. I feel its time for the media to step away from this and let it fade now. I agree to a point. Terri Schiavo's life is over. However, until all the facts come out, and justice is served, this will never be over. But, I have said my piece and I will shut up now and not keep dragging it on.
