Hello. I am sorry if my question appears to be dumb or if I don't explain the situation well. I am new at this.
I just recently purchased a DI 524 router. When I first tried to install it, everything worked fine for a couple of minutes. I then took out the cables and plugs out to reposition the router and things do not work anymore despite trying to reinstall everything from scratch. For the first couple of minutes I was able to surf the web at high speeds in 3 computers connected via ethernet cables and a laptop that was connected wirelessly. After repositioning the router I could only connect the laptop wirelessly. The 3 ethernet wired computer connections no longer worked. My modem is a Terayon TJ615 and my ISP is Adelphia High speed. I run on Windows XP home.
Please help me. Thank you in advanced for the help and time.

Welcome :)
Try Resetting the Router
Also try releasing and renewing your connections using IPCONFIG.

Thank you for your prompt response! I appreciate it. However, I have had no luck in trying to fix my conection.
I called DLink, but they told me to call Adelphia, who told me to call my computer's manufacturer.
Dlink did a couple of tests and determined that the router was communicating with my modem and that my computer was actually communicating with the internet since it was able to ping www.yahoo.com (http://www.yahoo.com) in cmd. They said that maybe it was my Voip service that was causing an interruption with the service and to call Adelphia and they should tell me what to do. My voip service was working fine and it is connected to the router.
Adelphia made me do the reset the modem and router thing that Dlink made me do a million times. My Voip service still worked fine and I was able to make and receive phone calls, and then I tried going online. I tried many websites and to my surprise, I was able to only go to 2 websites: tmobile.com and xanga.com, nothing more, nothing less. I do not know if it is a defective router since Dlink told me that it wasn't. None of my computers can go online though.
Thank you again in advanced.

You can ping most, if not all, websites?
You can actually load two in a browser?
Is this all browsers or just IE? Have you tried Firefox or Opera?
Do you have access to the Router config?
Have a look though for a MTU value.

Yes, I can ping all the websites that I tried.
I can only load those two websites, one at a time, in IE. It won't load google.com, yahoo.com, or this website at all.
I have not tried any other browser.
I do not think I have access to the router's config because when I try to go to http://192.168.0.1, I do see the username and password box, but nothing loads after that.
Sorry for such a difficult situation. Thank you so much for your time!

Did you try entering the Username & Password?

Ok if I understand this the router has been reset to factory defaults yes? If so then when you try to bring up the routers config via a web browser you would only need to enter the default password no username "normally the default password is admin" If you still can't get into the config try taking everything offline just unhook the router from an internet connection source and the computer all you want hooked up is the computer to the router. Now try to enter the routers config see if that helps. The bottom line is if you can't get into the routers config even after using different browsers and different setups then you have a pretty serious issue.

Call your Provider and ask the for their MAC address instead of cloning it.

Vanari thanks for the imput but not everyone has the same issue that you did and that fix isn't applicable here. I'm not really sure it was in your situation either to be honest.

Hi. Thank you for all the nice replies.
Yes, the router is set back to its default settings. The username is admin and the password is blank. However, nothing shows up after I input that. I also have a wired router that I am using right now since the wireless one doesn't work, and it is able to connect to 192.168.0.1 with no problems so I do not think it is my computer.
I think you are right Badwayz, I may have a serious problem. I guess the router has to go back where it came from. I was hoping I wouldn't have to because I odered it online and waiting for a replacement takes a while. Also, theres a rebate that has to be mailed in soon. Oh well... I'm screwed.
I will try your other suggestion though. I'll let you know how that goes. If tha doesn't work then I give up.
Thank all of you for being so nice to me. Have a nice day!

Seems to me that if you can ping the outside world websites but cannot view them iit would be a dns or spyware problem.

I do not think it is a spyware problem because I just restored my computer with the restore CDs.
If it is a DNS problem, then I would not know how to fix it. I'm doomed.
I am actually using the DI 524 that I am having problems with right now. The wireless part works fine, which is how I am posting right now. It is just that all 3 of the computers connected by ethernet cables cannot access the web.
Thank you again.

I don't know if you have already been to this page or not but it has some interesting info check it out HERE (http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=979&question=General%20Router%20/%20DI-784%20/%20DI-514%20/%20DI-524%20/%20DI-514_revC%20/%20DWL-900AP%20_revB%20/%20DWL-900AP%20_revC%20/%20DI-624_revC%20/%20DI-624_revB%20/%20DWL-G800AP%20/%20DWL-G810) In particular be sure if you are running XP to download the latest java patch via the link on that page. Also something to think about from that page "Your computer must be on the same IP subnet to connect to the web-based utility". I hope this help as I feel like the router may not be bad but you are just on the edge of getting it to work.

Sorry I haven't responded in so long. Thank you for going out of your way to find that website. I've seen it before and I've gone through it both by myself and also with tech support. None of that has worked.
In relation to '"Your computer must be on the same IP subnet to connect to the web-based utility,"' I believe that they are in the same subnet, but I am not sure how to do that if they aren't.
It sure is terribly hard to get an RMA number from Dlink...LOL...
Thanks and have a nice day!

Your computer is apparently in the same subnet, otherwise you wouldn't get the login screen when you tried to connect to your router.
I also don't think it's a DNS problem because you can ping to www.yahoo.com (http://www.yahoo.com).
To check if you're in the same subnet:
Go to the command prompt. Type ipconfig.
If your ip is 192.168.0.x (x being a random number, "1" excluded) and your subnet is 255.255.255.0, you're fine. I'm assuming your router ip is 192.168.0.1 .
The gateway should be 192.168.0.1
I can't think of an answer to you problem though...
