I have been trying to load my win 98se but it keeps on giving me a load error and it goes into a prompt. i can change to b c d prompts but it keeps on with the same thing.....boot from floppy boot OS with or without CD rom support .. same prob. ran f disk but cannot asign the cd rom or HDD not shown.. boot selected device are 1st floppy cd rom and HDD but nothing.

have win 98 and se both floppyies, have win 98 cd rom + upgrade and se 3 cd roms.. and downloaded dos 6.22 floppy from bootdisks.com and tried that... worked.., the dir is shown correctly.. but it wont load the OS due to CD rom or HDD.

and help or article would be greatly appreciated.. need this win 98 for A+ cert and testing simulators i have...... If the PC would work lol :dizzy:

talk to a friend also but he stated I need the 3 floppy disk series of DOS or something.... the PC wont assign drive letters.. i THINK the probb lies there. Got passed creating primary and extended part.s and setting active.... but no formatting can be done. ^@^%@$&^*!!!!!!!!!!

you can see why I LOVE my PC :bored: :disgust: :disgust:

try deleting all partitions
drop back to dos
run fdisk /mbr ( it wont report any thing just drop to the next line)
creat your partitions again
then try and format it
u can donload a boot floppy with cd rom support from bootdisk.com among other places
