Hello my friend,

Please click here (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/pop.php?oleaut32) and DL the .dll file.......

Next, put it on a floppy disk....

3) Boot your Machene into DOS (The problem machene) and type this at the A:> prompt:

copy oleaut32.dll C:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll

This will copy this file into your system32 dir which will allow you to boot.....

GOOD LUCK :) -- Welcome to CTH!!

Thanks, I just spent some time doing this exactly as you said. I had a time getting the floppy to format before it would accept the download from the link you provided, once I did i was able to successfully overwrite and copy the new file into the windows folder and nothing has changed. So thanks for the help but still nothing. Can you possibly suggest anything else.
Thanks

You put this file into your system32 directory and it still wont boot????

Whats it telling you now???? Thats the DEFAULT location i gave you, perhaps your computer is looking for it somewhere else.... Try putting it in your SYSTEM directory and see what happens, just redo what i posted above and if THAT works, then go into your system32 directory and delete it from there.......

boot to dos
run scanreg /restore

if that failes in c:\ type attrib -r -h -s
copy system.1st windows
attrib -r -h -s
ren system.dat system.bak
ren system.1st system.dat
reboot it should take you through the last part of the install sequence but then ull have to install all you drivers and software again but you wont lose any thing.
if that failes either format or rename your windows directory and install a fresh

That wont work Mate, she is MISSING THAT DLL IN THE SYSTEM DIRECTORY!!!!

Restoring a registry wont do anything if the file is AWOL!!!!

She put it in system32 and it doesnt work, her computer must be like mine..Looking for that dll in her System directory instead........... (I thought only my computer had it in that dir) (uugghh)

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem, I can't get any programs including internet explorer to work, so I'm typing this from a friend's computer. Is the only way to fix the problem to download something online, because my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive and I don't have a cd burner available.

Welcome to CTH :)

Have you tried to do a SYSTEM RESTORE??

Bootup, press F8 until a menu appears, press 5 (Command Prompt) then @ the prompt enter "scanreg/restore" .. When you see the list of registrys, simply select one from a day ago or whenever it worked (See if that works first for ya)

Good luck & i hope you enjoy your stay!

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

Would using the restore program reformat my computer and delete my files?

NO

It just loads a registry file from a previous date that was backed up, hopefully a good one.

Thanks for the advice, but I can't get any older than a day ago to work, and the ones that do work have the same problem.
