how do i share my bt broadband between pc and laptop??

hey all thanks for reading this...i have just bought a laptop and i need to know how do i share my bt aol connection on my tiny pc with my laptop...the laptop has both usb ports and a Wireless integrated network card (IEEE 802.11b) do i need to buy something if so what :S or make a network if so how lol sorry about thi but new to havin to share it as can be seen thanks hope you can help me

Welcome :)

Does your PC have a Network Card/Port?
If so you can attach the two using a Straight-Through Cat5 cable and use Windows Internet Connection Sharing.


Another option would be to purchase a Wireless Router.
This would be better as the two computers would be independent and be able to access the net without the other turned on.

You would attach the Modem to the Router then you can either attach the PC with a cable or install a Wireless card.

is there a certain Wireless Router that i need to use with bt or do they all do the same??

I don't know about BT at all but if its a cable connection just about any wi-fi router would do. If its DSL you might want to call them and ask if they suggest a brand or make router that works with their system. I would suggest something along the lines of THIS (http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=33&scid=35&prid=601) That would give you what you need plus more if you ever needed to share out the connection to more computers as time goes on.

I believe BT use ADSL USB modems.
