My cumputer was running good but now it will not scan or defrag I am new at this and have down loaded the winme defrag program but do not know how to get it to unzip it keeps telling me it needs a exe to open some help please. :wave:

You will not be able to run the scandisk or defrag if some of the background application is preventing this operation. You can try running the Scandisk and defrag in Safe mode. You can start the computer in safe mode by these steps:
1. Restart the computer.
2. While the computer restarts, press and hold down the F8 key
until the Windows 98 Startup menu appears.
3. Choose Safe mode from the Startup menu and press Enter. ;)
