hi guys i'm just new here. got this Samsung Sens 670 laptop from my friend but its windows is in korean. i went to Samsung service center here in korea but they don't have an english version of windows 98 se & they will try to find one & have me pay for $30 but will not give me the cd how ironic. so thats why i do research & find this forum. i'm just new to computer t\in fact this is my first one. i've been trying to learn form forums like this one. when i try to reinstall windows 98 se english version here's what i got:

Setuo Error: WindowsCharacter set mismatch

Setup has detected an incompatible Windows character set. Setup can not proceed.

You have to install Windows into a clean directory.

this is what i get. really guys I don't understand what this means & I don't what to do now. hope that cybertech can help me with this one please give my step by step direction on how to do this. english please not korean. thanks in advance & more power to CYBERTECH.:wave:

You need a Windows 98 boot-floppy disk to start with. Boot the laptop from it and you will get a startup menu. Select "Start computer with CD-ROM support" and press [ENTER]. When the 'A:>' prompt appears, type FORMAT C: and press [ENTER]. You will get a warning about losing all data on C are you sure?: just press 'Y' and [ENTER] and the hard disk will be wiped. When finished, insert the Windows 98 CD, change to the correct drive letter for the CD by typing the letter E: (don't forgot the colon) and press [ENTER]. Then type SETUP and press [ENTER]
