wap54g as AP client

I am trying to use my wap54g to access the internet from a dlink di524 wireless router . I am not sure how to config the 54g . I read that i need to set ap mode to access client and do survey . I then clik dlink from the survey and I save settings, but can not get on internet . what am i doing wrong ?

In your wireless settings page you should see a tab or setting labled "mode". You want to change it from access point to ap client. You'll probably have to give the mac address, configure the ssid to match the acess point, and configure any encryption.
