 I am so screwed unless i can get this answered. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

There are 40 computers, 2 rooms with 20 computers in each, the ip address is 192.168.10.0 and 2 bits have been borrowed, what would then be the subnet and ip addresses of the hosts?

Sounds like homework to me.

Yes this does sound like homework.

I don't have a complete answer for you, but anyway...

Disregard the two rooms, just focus on the fact that there are 40 computers.

HOST addresses USUALLY (but not always) end with .1, in your case 192.168.10.1.

I do not know what the "Borrowed two bits" means.

Try this website, it may be of some assistance: http://www.ralphb.net/IPSubnet/

What he means is 192.168.10.0/30

I can tell you that you'll need to allocate several subnets because /30 (aka 255.255.255.252) will not give you many clients per network. And since it won't hurt to acutally tell you since you'll need to figure out the subnets and hosts and routers and broadcasts, etc, etc on your own...

This subnetmask will only give you 2 hosts per network... have fun
